A visiting Swiss journalist who arrived from London by tho Ballarat today, says there is still hope that the aviator Hinkler may bo marooned in an Alpine liut, from which ho will be unable to communicate with the outside world till the winter passes. In perfect weather, but with a slight breeze, and in the presence of some 3000 people, Sir Charles Kingsford Smith made a perfect landing at Taurauga aerodrome at 10.30 o’clock. Ho left Wanganui at 8.30 and made a good trip across, the visibility being perfect. The Southern Cross leaves tomorrow for Waihi.
