Miss Margaret Thomas, New Plymouth, is the guest of Miss Beth Parkes, Denbigh Street, Feilding. Miss Lois Mercer, of Napier, is on a visit to her cousin, Miss Bcnice Bcuzcr. Miss Gwen Bates is a Wanganui visitor to Maliino and is the guest of her aunt, Mrs. A. Prouso. Mr. Don Cameron is back at Makino •after a holiday spent at liis home in Gisborne. Mr. and Mrs. J. G. Heaven and their small sons, who recently motored from Wellington to pay a short visit to Mr. and Mrs. Walter Hill, have returned home. Mr. Maine, lately of the Wanganui district, who has been appointed head master of the local school, arrived in Makino last week accompanied by his wife and family. WOMEN’S INSTITUTE PICNIC. Tho Makino bravh of the Women’s Institute is holding a. picnic to-day (Thursday) at Johnston Park, Feilding. The event is being very much looked forward to by local residents to whom a day of leisure by the riverside will bo most welcome after the particularly strenuous time experienced of late in connection with haymaking, etc.
