Lasky Now With Fox
EIGHT PICTURES YEARLY
Jesse L. Lasky has signed a contract with Pox Film Corporation to produce eight pictures a year for a term of two years at the Movietone City Studios. Fox will finance the production of these pictures, and distribute them, placing all of its facilities throughout tho world' at Lasky’s disposal. Sidney R. Kent, president of Fox, in making . the announcement, said: “It is important to this industry that Jesse L. Lasky will; continue to produce motion picturesmndef the most favourable circumstances. lam happy that ho has decided to : work with the Fox Film Corporation' in the future. Lasky’s record as a producer of tho best motion pictures speaks for itself. He has given the- public the best entertainment his medium afforded since the early days of the industry. He has grown with the business, always occupying a position of leadership in the advancements of artistic standards, and in the interpretation of public taste. Our arrangements with him bring to Fox the benefit of Jesse L. Lasky’s creative genius at its best.”
Lasky is already busy in Hollywood completing his producing organisation. His first picture will be released about March 1. Two scripts so far bought are “Zoo in Budapest,” and “WarrioT Husbafid.” “Zoo” is an original by Jack Kirkland, and “Warrior’s Husband” was a Broadway legitimate production of last season. This latter play will be turned into a farce for Laeky’s purposes
