Cosmopolitan Crowd In “Brother Alfred”
“Brother Alfred,” the new 8.1. P. film which Henry Edwards directed at Elstree, has the Mediterranean for its sotting and some remarkable scenes were secured in a reproduction of a well-known restaurant in Monte Carlo complete with its cosmopolitan clientele. • The picture commenced at the Regent yesterday. Dining here amidst tho glories of plush and chandeliers were some two hundred players of every nationality. French, Italian, Greek, Hungarian and oven Chinese men and women were assembled round the little tables between which the cabaret troupe danced gaily. The babel of voices in a diversity of languages served to brighten the Continental atmosphere. June Seymour danced in this cabaret with a troupe specially trained for the film by Eddie Dolly, but the star turn was Marie Burke, the celebrated vocalist who inspired vociferous applause from tho players at the close of her song.
One of the many amusing scenes in “Brother Alfred’ -is enacted in this restaurant by Gene Gerrard, the star of the film, when, in a state of wild intoxication he punches a high-born prince on the noso. ■
It is on this situation that the subsequent adventures of Gene turn, but a happy ending is eventually, reached.
