Feilding Show and Ram Fair
EXCELLENT ENTRIES RECEIVED
Entries for the Feilding Show and Ram Fair have now closed and the numerous entries are being catalogued, and when completed it is anticipated that the stock entries will be practically on a par with last year's total which then constituted a record for tho association. The support accorded the Feilding A. and P. Association by exhibitors is deeply appreciated by the committee, especially in view of the busy times experienced by farmers and others at this period of the season. The purebred Komney, Southdown and natural condition Southdown classes are particularly well filled and keen competition will result. Fat Jamb and sheep classes will also be well ahead of previous years. The pig section is overflowing with entries, there being 145 entries from exhibitors over a wide area, including the Waikato, this section provides a record for the association, and it will bo well worth the inspection of all visitors to tho show. Ring events, horses, ponies and draughts are in the close vicinity of last year's total. -Some of the cattle sections have been neglected by exhibitors but it is pleasing to note that fat cattle, Friesians, milking fcjkorthorns, Red Polls and Jersey entries will give the judges a. difficult task in selecting the prize winners; this also applies to the dairy section. The ladies have again excelled themselves in the needlework section and provide a record entry, there being approximately 32 more entries in the ladies' and junior sections. A wonderful display of beautiful needlework is assured. Cookery and preserve entries arc not so numerous as last year but this is due to the limiting of entries to one in each of these two sections. Much more general interest will be taken in these two sections, however, as the prize awards will go to three different exhibitors in each class. We can assure our readers that tho Feilding Show which takes place next-lues-day and Wednesday will be well worth going to and will cater for the education and amusement of all. Special night show programmes are being arranged, particulars of which will bo advertised later.
