Prom Our Own Correspondent. A very enjoyable dance was held in the local hall last Friday evening under the auspices of the Tokomaru Cricket Club. There was a very good attendance and a very happy time vas spent by all present. Music for dancing "as supplied by Mr. H. Parr and extras were played by Miss D. Webb and Mr. Knyvett. Visitors were present from Opiki and Shannon, including Mcsdames G. Claridgo, G. Williams, J. Anderson, L. Simpson, H. Pentecost, R.izzi, H. Parr, Corlctt, Morgan, Umiruge, Peters (Christchurch), Misses M. Schwass, J. Patrick, D. Gyde, Corlctt, Ellery (2), S. Roach (Shannon), B. Brown (Shannon), J. Bootc, A. Andeison, M. Gilmour, A. Schwass, Perris (2), Lynch, A. Mason, I. Mason, 0. Jamieson, V. Guy, D. Wilton, L. Kankin, V. Sadd, Saxon (2), J. Kelly, Young, M. Webb, D. Webb ana many others. A Monte Carlo dance was uon by Misses Corlett and Bills. Mr. A. Williams made a very capable M.C. and ho announced during the evening that another dance would be held in a month’s time.

Miss M. Bills, of Foxton, is a visitor to Shannon and is the guest of Mrs. If. Pentecost.

Much sympathy will be i'clt for the members of Mr. Galloway’s family in their recent bereavement. Aiuieugu Mr. Galloway had not been a resident of Tokomaru for more than a lew years, lie was extremely well liked by all who came in contact with him. Mr. Galloway was staying with his daughter, Mrs. It. McCormack, Wellington, at the timo of his death.

Mrs. A. S. Burt is a visitor to Palmerston North for tho and the guc.it of her sister, Mrs. K. Clark, Princess street.

Mrs. Peters and her small daugurer, Shirley, of Christchurch, v/lio have been staying in Tokomaru, will return home this week.

Mrs. S. Renard and family left Tokomaru during the week-end to take up their now home in Mastcrton, . where Mr. Kenard has secured a position. Mr. and Mrs. H. Peach arc gaing to occupy Mrs. Kenard’s vacated home. Mrs. Peach, who has been on a visit to Whakarongo, is expected home this week.
