Per Press Association. WELLINGTON, Last Night.
A fairly intense anticyclone now covers the Tasman Sea and New Zealand, its area of highest pressure extending from Tasmania to Otago. The pressure is low over the greater part of Australia. Winds : Moderate to strong, but decreasing southerly to south-easterly, later backing to north-easterly. Seas (N.Z. waters) ; Rough between Kaikoura and East Cape and in the Cook Strait area, elsewhere moderate. Eastern Tasman Sea : Moderate south-east to east and later north-east winds ; seas moderate. Weather : Fair to fine generally but some passing showers at first in the eastern and far northern portions of the North Island. Temperatures cool but becoming warmer again after to-morrow
