MANSON AND BARR CUP GAME Although tho weather was threatening and heavy showers had fallen during the morning, it remained fine on Saturday afternoon for tho Manson and Barr cup game staged on tho Palmerston North greens, tho holders’ grounds. The challengers were tho Takaro representatives, and, after a splendid game, the trophy was retained by tho opposition. Messrs G. Wilson, A. Wilson, Arnott, and Skoglund (skip), formed tho Palmerston North rinlc 17111011 defeated Takaro, Messrs Russell, Morgan, A. Smith and Tantrum by 25 points to 16. ANNIVERSARY DAY PAIRS AT PALMERSTON NORTH GREEN Despite a nor’-easterly wind, weather conditions remained fine in the city yesterday when the Anniversary Day pairs were staged at tho Palmerston North Club’s green. Some excellent games were witnessed, detailed results being as follow: — Skips. Wins. Losses.

The time limit was ono hour and a quarter on each of tho five 12-heau games. A play-off was found necessary and eventually G. Wilson proved the winner of the skips’ section and A. McKegg tho winner of the leads.
