Girl Gangster

A BREAKDOWN POSE VICTIM LURED TO PLAT DRUGGED, ROBBED AND DUMPED. The woman “kerb crawler,” accomplice of blackmailers and robbers, has made her appearance in the West End of London. She may be one of the same gang who, as reported in the “Sunday Dispatch” recently, held up a peer’s son and robbed him when his car broke down near Piccadilly Circus. The victim of this new pest was u young man from Oxford, on his own in London for the first time.

■Walking towards Knightsbridge just after midnight, he noticed an elegant coupe car, which pulled up by the kerb just in front of him.

Cultured Voice. The attractive girl driver appeared to be fumbling with the controls. Then the car went jerkily forward for a few yards and stopped again. “Would you be so sweet as to lift the bonnet to see if the fan belt is all right?” the driver asked in a cultured voice. The young man complied, found all In order, and during the chat which followed accepted a lift. “Come to my flat out Kensington way for a nightcap,” was the noxt invitation, “I'll take you homo later.” The young man agreed, and found himself in an expensively furnished flat somewhere in the region of Holland Park—but just where he did not Know. After one or two drinks he felt unaccountably drowsy, but every time he said he must be going he wa3 pressed to take one more drink. Wallet and Watch. “My friend who shares tho flat with me is away, and I so hate being alone,” she told him. That was the last thing he remembered until he found himself, fully) dressed, ou his own bed, with a tcrriblo headache, and his wallet and his watch gone. He was too ashamed to make inquiries whether anybody had seen him arrive home.

But lie is satisfied that he was carried to his own flat by accomplices of the girl with the car, and that anybody who saw him arrive would merely think that he had been celebrating too well.
