Four Maoris Committed for Trial
ALLEGED ASSAULT ON FREE LABOURER. Per Press xYssoeiation GISBORNE, Last Night. As the result of an argument in a hotel right-of-way on Christmas Eve, four Maoris, John Klngi, Meni Katlpa, Joe Hocra Tupara and Tommy Ahuriri, were charged before Mr. P. H. Harper, S.M., to-day with assaulting John Dalyrple so as to cause him actual bodily harm. Dalyrplo is a free labourbutcher at the Haiti works and was admitted to hospital with broken jaw. After a lengtby hearing, accused pleaded not guilty and were committed to the Supreme Court for trial.
