Dominion Croquet Championships
H. P. STRATTON TAKES OPEN TITLE. Per Press Association WELLINGTON, Last Night. A largo gallery followed the final of the open championship at tho Dominion Croquet Tournament at Riddiford Park to-day. Having bcatou Captain Hartnell in the senli-linal, H. P. Stratton played Mr 3. Watkins, whom ho defeated in two games by 2G —10 and 26—1. Stratton played faultless croquet throughout tho tournament. Tho following trophies wore presented by the retiring president, Mrs. H. Rhodes-Williams :
Open Championship : 11. O. Stratton ; runner-up, Mrs. Watkins. Women’s Championship : Mrs. W. E. Caldow ; runner-up, Mrs. Watkins. Championship Doubles : Mrs. Palmer and Mr. Stratton ; runners-up, Mrs. Henderson and Captain Hartnell. Level Singles: Mr. E. Managh ; runner-up, Mrs. Lees. Handicap Singles : Mrs. Kibblcwhite; runner-up, Mrs. Bassett. Handicap Singles (B grade) : Miss J. Beal; runner-up, Rev. Tyc. Handicap Doubles : Mrs. Bartlett and Mr. E. Managh; runners-up, Mrs. Tingey and Mrs. Clark. English medals played for at Hastings last autumn : gold medal, Mrs. Watkins ; silver medal, Mrs, Caldow.
