The Kinibolton Tennis Club team visited the Apiti courts on Saturday for a Haythorne Cup match against Apiti B. Despite heavy showers the match rvas concluded in Kimbolton’s favour, the scores being 15 6tis to 9. Some splendid games wero very closely contested. Tho ladies of the Apiti tdarn provided refreshments. Tho following are the scores, Kimbolton players being mentioned first:—
Men's singles: E. Alarslialf 6 beat Buckman 2; Stan. Waugh 0 lost to W. Duncan 6; T. Thompson 7 lost to R. Prince 9; E. H. Hay thorne 13 beat C. Osborne 11; W. Olsch 6 beat E. Schmidt 1; G. Bitchio 7 beat Cantwell 5. Alen's doubles: Marshall and Waugh 4 lost to Buckman and Duncan 6; Olsen and Thompson S beat Prince and Osborne 6; Hnytkorno and Bitchie 6 beat Cantwell and Schmidt 2.

The Apiti A team visited the Rangiwahia Tennis Club on Saturday and wero defeated by several sets, the scores being Rangiwahia 17, Apiti 7. Personal. Mrs. W. F. Godfrey and her son, of Palmerston North, are at present staying with Aliss Leslie. Miss Ida Alalcolm has returned from a holiday spent at New Plymouth and tho Waitomo Caves.
Aliss Andrews, of Bunnythorpe, is visiting her sister, Airs. J. Cantwell. Air. and Airs. R. Osborne left Apui last week and will now make their lionie in Fcilding. Airs. Osborne, who has been a very active member of the Alethorlist. Church Guild, the Tennis Club and the Women’s Institute, will be much missed by the members of theso societies.
Owing to tho showery weather of the past week many crops of mown hay are still lying in the paddocks awaiting more favourable) weather for harvesting.
AC tho next meeting of tho Women’s
Institute a new member, Mrs. C. Boyce, Will, demonstrate tho cutting out of a frock. The quarterly marset stall will be held and members wilt also have the opportunity to voice any suggestions for future programmes. The hostesses will be Alesdames W. Alorris, R. J. Stewart, A. F. Stewart and G. Souncss.
