T&a Aslifiurgt-Polungina Racing Club’s annual fixture is recognised a* one of the most enjoyable on the racing calendar and yesterday’s meeting was no exception to the rule. The day was delightfully fine and the course was in first rate order after the rain. The attendance waa up to expectations and patrons witnessed some exciting races with a number of very close finishes. The win and place system of betting was tried out for the first time in the history of the district and it proved a popular innovation with the racing public.
