THE WOMAN WORKER,
One of tho best authorities in tho United States on women who work, or on women in reafcion to industry generally, is Dr. Mary Anderson, director of the Federal Women’s Bureau at Washington. Dr. Anderson has, for some years past, been fighting the battle of the married woman who, for various reasons, finds it necessary to go out to work. Just now, in these lean and difficult times, married women workers are coming in for a lot of criticism, which charges them with taking jobs from men. Dr Anderson says they are fully entitled to wrnrk to keep homo and family together, because of the husband’s low wages or his being out of work; to raiso the family standard to a level of health and decency; to give tho children a better education; or to buy a home or household equipment.
