WELLINGTON, Last Night,

Six finals were decided at tho Dominion croquet tournament at Lower Hutt and Pctone on Saturday. The weather was dull and overcast but the rain held off and conditions were not unpleasant. The finalists gave exhibitions of excellent croquet, Mr. H. P. Strajtton in particular playing faultlessly. Throughout the tournament visitors have been lavish in their praise of the greens which were in splendid condition for scientific croquet. Results of Saturday’s play: — Level Singles, “A” Grade Final: E. Managh beat Mrs. Lees 26—22. Ladies’ Championship, first life final: Mrs. Caldow beat Mrs. Watkins by default. Second life final: Mrs. W’atkins beat Mrs. Caldow by default. First v. second life final: Mrs. CaWow beat Mrs. Watkins 26—22, 26—9. Open Championship, second round: Captain Hartnell beat Mrs. Tingey 26 —11,223;6 —3; H. P. Stratton beat Mrs. Bartlett 26—17, 26—23. Semi-final: Mrs. Watkins beat A. G. F. Ross 26 —17, 26—10. Handicap Singles Final: Mrs. Kibblewhite beat Mrs. Bassett 26 —24. Handicap Doubles Final: Mr. E. Managh and Mrs. Bartlett beat Mrs. Tingey and Mrs. Clark 26 —20. The final in tho Dominion open championship will be played at Riddiford Park on Monday morning between Mr. 11. P. Stratton and Mrs. C. Watkins, both of Hawke’s Bay.
