After crawling across parched ground to a steep creek bank, only to topple thirst-crazed into the dry, rocky bed below, William McLeod, aged 63, a prospector, died within fivo hundred yards of a full well in tho country behind Onslow. The graphic story of McLeod’s death, following a -waterless trek of 38 miles, during which his tracks indicated frantic bursts in pursuit of a mirage, is contained in a report from Constable Creagli, of Onslow.
