School Sports

; Events at College Street College Street School sports were held yesterday afternoon at tho school grounds in tho presence of a large number of parents. Tho function "was quite a successful one, and was thoroughly enjoyed by all. The stalls plied a spirited trade during the afternoon. Stall-holders were: Ice creams, Mesdames Watchorn and Huntington; sweets and soft drinks, Mesdames Edwards and Worboys; tea rooms, Mrs. Wollerman and ladies’ committee., Tho sports were Tun under the supervision of the headmaster (Mr. TV. Mr. W. L. Fitzherbert (president, of the Manawatu head centre of the’ Royal Life Saving Society) then presented to the school the. lifesaving and swimming shield won in the group competition this season. Orhnges, cakes and sweets were distributed to the children from the committee and the visitors were given afternoon tea by the ladies’ committee.
