Fatal Fall into Creek
BROTHER OF A LEVIN RESIDENT Per Press Association. ASHBURTON, Dec. 14. Geoffrey William Deal, aged 66, married, was found floating in a creek on his farm at Eiffclton last evening. Marks on the bank indicated that he had slipped when he went for a drink. The deceased was subject to fainting turns. The body was found by his son, who went in search of him at dusk
The deceased was a brother of Mr W. P. Deal, of Weraroa Road, Levin, for whom much sympathy will be felt in his sudden bereavement. The late Mr Geoffrey Deal had been farming for a good many years in tho Ashburton district and formerly at Scfton, in North Canterbury. In his younger days he was in business in the province. He leaves a family of three sons (one married) and one'daughter, and is survived by another brother and two sisters, all residing in the South Island. Mr W. P. Deal will be a passenger by the forry steamer this evening, en route to Ashburton, to attend the funeral.
