Wanted the Floor
MAN WITH A REVOLVER UNITED STATES REPRESENTATIVES STARTLED. United Press Association—By Electric Telegraph—-Copyright. WASHINGTON, Dec. 13. A man giving the name of Martin Kemerer, from Allentown, Pennsylvania, stood up in the gallery of the House of Representatives on Tuesday, and covering the floor with a revolver, and with one foot over the rail, he waved the gun towards members. Representatives looked up startled. Some headed for the cloakrooms. "I want the floor for a few minutes!” the man shouted. He stood for a few moments waving tho gun; then Representative Melvin J. Maas, Republican of St. Paul, Minnesota, walked across the Chamber, directly below him, and said, ‘ 1 Throw down that gun.” Kemerer pitched the gun to Maas, who caught it. Police rushed into the gallery and seized the man, and the House resumed its proceedings.
