United Evangelical Church And Rev. A. A. Murray

To the Editor. Kir, —In your issue of tho 14th there appeared a statement concerning Rev. A. A. Murray’s association with the United Evangelical Church im Palmerston North. So that there may not be any misunderstanding in regard to the matter will you permit me as Pastor of the Church to make a statement. The church now known by tho name mentioned above was formed about ten years ago following a great mission conducted by Air. French E. Oliver in this city. It was decided to affiliate with the newly-formed church in Auckland known as tho “United Evangelical Church in Now Zealand,” of which Rev. A. A. Alurray was the minister. Approximately three years ago affiliation with that body was cancelled the church in Palmerston North becoming an entirely independent Christian body carrying on under tho name of the “United Evangelical Church,” dropping tho affix “in New Zealand.” Good progress has been made under independent management when a new church has been built and tho congregation is steadily increasing in numbers. The church stands for the full inspiration and absolute inerrancy of the whole Biblo in tho original languages and preaches the Biblo as a whole. I am, etc., PASTOR WESLEY E. RICHARDS.
