Motueka By-election

MR YORK WITHDRAWS Per Press Association. NELSON, Nov. 15. Mr. R. J. York, Mayor of Motueka, who was announced as an Independent candidate for the Motueka by-election, has withdrawn. Interviewed to-day, Mr. York stated that there were several matters of importance to the borough of Motueka which ho wished to see finalised during his term as Mayor, but at the next general election he would be a candidate. Mr. E. J. Holyoake, tho Coalition candidate, had one of the largest political meetings ever held in Motueka when he delivered an address there night. He received a most enthusiastic reception. Three Candidates NELSON, Nov. 16. The nominations for the Motueka seat closed to-day. They are: — Mr. K. J. Holyoake (Coalition). Mr. R. McKenzie (Liberal-Labour). Mr. P. C. Webb (Labour).
