Oyer-supply Eases Addington Market

SLIGHT ADVANCE FOR FAT

LAMBS Per Press Association. CHRISTCHURCH, Last Night. The Addington market to-day was tho first since tho I double ’ sale a fortnight ago and in consequence the entries were heavy. Features were casings for beef and mutton and a slight advance for fat lambs. Sheep.—A small entry. Wether hoggets were cheaper and ewe hoggets also had a tendency to ease. The sale generally was dull and values were: Good owe hoggets 13s 8d to 15s sd; medium wether 7s 7d to 8s 9d; shorn halfbred 6s 6d to 9s Cd; ewes and lambs to 4s Id.

Fat Lambs.; —An entry of 1600 head. The average price per pound was 3Jd to 4}d and in odd instances 4id. The top price was 163 7d. Fat Sheep.—An entry of 5600. Consequent upon over-supply the market eased up to 1/- per head for ewes and I/- to 1/6 a head for wethers. Values were: Extra prime heavy wethers 14s 10d; prime heavy 12s 6d to 14s; primo medium weight 10s 6d to 12s; ordinary quality 9s to 10s; light 7s to 8s 9d; extra prime heavy ewes 14s 6d; prime heavy 10s to 11s 6d; prime medium weight 8s to 9s 6d; ordinary 6s 3d to ,7s 9d; light 5s to 6s. Fat Cattle.—The entry of 490 head constituted an over-supply and there was a dull sale with all classes easier "by 10/- to £1 a head. Best beef made up to 22s 6d per lOOlbs., good prime beef from 18s to 21s; heavy 15s 6d to 17s 6d; secondary 12s to 15s; and rough and inferior to 11s. Values were: Extra prime heavy steers to £ll 12s 6d; prime heavy £6 15s to £9; prime medium weight £5 15s to £7; ordinary quality £3 10s to £5 ss; light £2 to £3 ss; extra prime heifers £9 7s 6d; prime £4 10s to £6 ss; medium £3 5s to £4 ss; light £1 17a 6d to £3; extra primo cows £7 73 6d; prime £3 15s to £5 15s; medium £2 10s to £3 ss; light to £2 ss. Bigs.—There was an over-supply of porkers in a very heavy entry of fat pigs. .The market was easier. Values were: Choppers 25s to £2 18s 6d; baconers 35s 6d to 47s Gd; heavy 52s 6d to 57s 6d (average price per lb. 3Jd to 4}d); porkers 20s 6d to 29s Gd; heavy 30s 6d to 34s 6d (average price ncr lb. £d to 4Jd.) /
