All Saints ' Branch Of Mothers ' Union
MONTHLY MEETING.
There was a Jarge attendance of members of All Saints’ branch of the Mothers' Union at the monthly meeting held in the girls’ club room yesterday. Kev. C. Hyde presided m the absence of Canon G. Y. Woodward, and opened the meeting with prayer. There was considerable business before the meeting which included receiving reports of the Mothers’ Union Council meeting in Wellington and a farewell to the chairman of the Women’s Borstal Association, also a letter from St. Augustine’s branch, Swindon (Gngland), a link of All Saints’ branch. Arrangements were finalised for the conference of Mothers’ Union branches to be held in Palmerston North next Thursday over which Mrs. Wallace (Wellington) will preside. Mesdamcs Woodward, Kadclilfe, Eckorsloy, Wollerman and Metcalfe will represent the Palmerston North branch. A service will be held in the church at 11 a.m.
An appeal was made for eggs for the hospital visitors to take along to the Public hospital on Friday, and a general appeal was mado for produce for the street stall in aid of All Saints’ Children’s Homo on Saturday next. The tea hostesses who served a dainty afternoon tea were Mesdames
Ir.glis, Y'.ortt, Martin and 11. Hawick. Pleasant entertainment was provided by Miss Burrell, who contnbutea elocutionary items and Bevs. Hyde and Wiltshire, who gave vocal solos. Mrs. Wollorman played the accompaniments. ■ Thanks to the performers were conveyed by Mrs. Metcalfe and the meeting closed with a hymn and grace. Apologies for absenco were received from Canon and Mrs. Woodward, Mcsdames Abraham, Hewitt, Finch, Briden Jones, Bennett, Weeks, Brougham and Byrne.
