A friendly game of cricket was played on the Bulls Domain during the week-end between ladies of Woolworths’ Wanganui and Palmerston North branches, victory resting with tho Wanganui ladies by 104 runs. cd. Wanganui ladies made IG2 runs, Miss Horne putting on the line total of 99 before being dismissed by a splendid catch right on the boundary. Palmerston North ladies all worked hard, but their last wicket fell at 58, Miss Portigas being undefeated with 20 to her credit. For the winners, Miss Marchant was the most successful of a number of bowlers tried, and Misses Klee and Smith trundled well for Palmerston North. Bulls Cricket Club lent mattiDg to play on, and Bulls Tennis Club gave the use of the pavilion to shelter from tho eloments. The winners were capably coached by Mr. D. Cameron.
