Disappointed Thieves Set Fire to House
ONLY MINOR DAMAGE DONE. Per Press Association. CHEISTCHURCH, Last Night. Thieves ransacked thoroughly a seven-roomed house in Chester street tonight while the occupier, Mrs. G. A. Jessep, and family were at a picture theatre. The robbers evidently sought money and, Ending none, set fire to a pile of mattresses in one of the rooms. The alarm was raised by Mrs. Jessep o:: returning from a theatre. Only minor damage was done and nothing was missing from the rooms.
