£5 FORGERY PLOT

A VAST ORGANISATION Thousands of false £5 notes would have ilooded Europe had the plan of a vast organisation of forgers been realised. Two members of the gang were arrested in Hanover carrying parcels containing 200 false notes. The men, who were foreigners, said they had come from England, where the organisation is believed to have its headquarters, and had landed at Cherbourg. After doing successful “business” in Budapest and Vienna, they went to Paris, Marseilles, Venice, and Zurich.
