Hikurangi Miners Out Again
DISMISSAL OF 55 MEN THE CAUSE. WOULD DISCUSS SHARING OF WORK Per Press Association. WHANGAREI, May 23. As the outcome of a meeting of the Hikurangi Miners’ Union on Sunday, men employed by the Hikurangi Coal Company and'numbering 130, have gone on strike. Safety men to the number of 22 remain op duty. The meeting passed the following resolution; —“That the men re-affirm their previous decision to down tools until tho notices of dismissal to the 55 men*who have been discharged are withdrawn; that they wish to discuss with the company the sharing of work, and in the meantime have decided pot to resume work.”
