At the weekly meeting of the Palmerston North branch of the W.E.A. last evening there were readings from Shakespeare’s plays, excerpts being given from “Othello,” “As You Like It” and “King Henry IV.” Rehearsals for the forthcoming production of Bernard Shaw’s sparkling comedy, “Arms and the Man,” are progressing favourably. The cast selected is reputed to be a strong one and the presentation on June 9 should attract wide in terest.
