Mrs. T. Wales, of Colyton, is at present visiting relatives in Christchurch: Miss Y. Easton, of Foxton, has been spending a holiday in Tokomaru as the guest of Mrs. W. H. Webb. Mr. and Mrs. J. Beattie, of Rata, were the guests of Mr. and Mrs. W. H. Webb, of Tokomaru, for the commencement of the school holidays, leavling last week for Napier. Miss Jean Stevenson, national general secretary of the Y.W.C.A., who has been in Palmerston North assisting with the Blue Triangle appeal, returned to Wellington on Saturday. Paymaster-Commander and Mrs. J. T. V. Webster and their daughter left Wellington on Saturday morning by the Rotorua for England. PaymasterCommander Durnmn, who las taxen Commander Webster's place, and Mrs. Durmian, have taken up their residence in Kelburn/ Wellington. A happy gathering took place at the residence of Mr. W. Buckley, Cross street, on Thursday, the occasion being tho coming-of-age of his daughter, Miss May Buckley. Miss Buckley was the recipient of congratulations from a largo circle of friends. Ail present had a most enjoyable time, the gathering dispersing at a late hour. The engagement is announced in an exchango of Miss Barbara Catherine, younger daughter of the late tSir Arthur Myers, of Auckland, and Lady Myers, of 71 Upper Berkeley street, London, W. 1., to John Walter Rivers, younger son of Dr. C. S. Myers, C.8.E., F.R.S., and Mrs. Myers, of 5 Montagu Mansions, London, and* of Winsford, Somerset, England.
