A message from San Salvador states that a violent earthquake rocked the west coast of Central America to-day, killing an undetermined number of persons and causing great loss of property. The bodies of six persons have been recovered from the ruins of Zacatecoluga, 65 miles south-west of San Salvador. Others were injured. Crippled communication lines prevented the receipt of reports from other parts of the country. Fear is folt for San Vincente, which is believed to have suffered the severest effects of the earthquake, which was felt in three republics, El Salvador, Honduras and Nicaragua.
