Notes of the Day
Mr. W. N. Jones, proprietor of Hastio’s hotel, Feilding, who has been convalescing, following a serious illness, at Auckland and Rotorua, returned to Feilding on Saturday, very much improved in health. Friends of Mr. R, F. Haybittle, a widely-known citizen of Feilding, will regret to learn that he is at present an inmate of the Feilding private hospital, suffering from pneumonia. His condition is giving his family considerable anxiety. “It is with profound regret,” states tho annual report of tho Feilding A. and P. Association, “that w t o have to record the death of several esteemed officers and members of the association during the year. With the passing of the late Mr. E. H. Fisher the association lost a. keen and energetic secretary, a position ho had occupied since tho inception of tho association. Despite his physical disability, Mr. Fisher maintained his usual cheerfulness and carried out his duties to the end with tho utmost satisfaction to the committee. Mr. E. J. Wackrill, co-auditor of the association, was the next to pass from our midst, and his death severed a long and useful connection with this committee. Death also claimed Messrs. H. Tolley and J. Stalker, who were for many years valued members of the association. To the relatives left to mourn their loss wc extend our deepest sympathy and condolence.”
