MRS. J. T. McKELVIE. # The death occurred at Palmerston North yesterday of Mrs. Jessie FJorence McKelvio, wifo of Mr. James Flockhart McKelvie, of “Pukemarama,” Carnarvon, in her 63rd year. Mrs. McKelvie was tho eldest daughter of tho late Mr. and Mrs. David Scott, of “ Willowbank," Bulls, and had lived in tho Raugitikoi and Manawatu districts practically all her life. In her younger days Mrs. McKelvie was an expert horsewoman and took many prizes at agricultural shows. She was a keen horticulturist a.nd her services were frequently availed of as judge by many horticultural societies. Sho was frequently called on to judge for A. and P. societies in the home industries classes. During the war Mrs. McKelvie was ever am active and keen worker in Red Cross and other kindred activities. She was also a willing worker on behalf of the local Presbyterian Church and in conjunction with her husband gave helpful active support to ail district sports. Mrs. McKelvie was of a most kind, charitable and hospitable disposition and a host of friends ever found a welcome at her beautiful home, “Pukemarama. ” The deceased lady is survived by her husband, one son, Mr. Rex McKelvio, and four daughters, Mrs. J. H. Russell, Bulls; Mrs. J. C. Gibbons, Carnarvon; and the Misses M. and R. McKelvie. Tho funeral will leave her late residence, "Pukemarama," for the Clifton cemetery, Bulls, to-morrow at 2 p.m.
