IRELAND’S GREAT POWER SCHEME.—The great Shannon power scheme, which provides for the harnessing of the River Shannon, the largest river in Ireland, is now nearly finished, and soon the Free State should be sup plied with cheap electricity. The work, which comprises a power station, a huge dam and a giant weir, was started in 1925. This view shows the power station at Ardnacrusha.
