Mrs. «T. D. C. Crewe, of Pahiatua, is the guest of Mrs. W. Nathan, Terrace End. Mr. and Mrs. Bornholdt, of Wellington, arc the guests of the Kcv. and Mrs. Te Punga (Halcombc). Mr. and Mrs. Mclnnes, of Oamaru, arc the guests of Mr. and Mrs. B. Grant, of IS Stanley avenue, Palmerston North. Mrs. Beflney, of Eketahuna, who has been the guest of her sister, Mrs. Beale (Linton) returned to her home on Tuesday. The friends of Air. and Airs. |Luko Wilson will be glad to learn that their son Noel is making good progress in the Palmerston North hospital after his recent operation.

There was a good attendance at the first of the fortnightly “500” evenings conducted by the ladies’ committee of All Saints’ Boys’ Club on Wednesday evening in aid of the building fund. The ladies’ prize was won by Airs, lnglis with Airs. Taylor taking the consolation prize. Airs. Wollerman, playing as a gentleman, won the men’s prize, Airs. Abbot taking the consolation award. The ladies’ committee served supper.

Another old time dance was held on Tuesday evening by the Takaro hall committee, and it proved to be a most enjoyable function. The Alontc Carlo waltz was won by Air. and Airs. Penny and the lucky spot dance by Mr. Armstrong and Airs. Brandon. (Splendid music was provided and extras wero played by Alessrs. Penny and fc-mitk. Mr. Hall carried out the duties of AI.C. very efficiently. The next dance evening will be a “joy night.”
