COMMUNITY SING TO BE BROADCAST FROM FOXTON From Our Own Correspondent. At Monday night’s meeting of tlio Foxton Unemployment Committee, the Mayor (Mr. M. E. Perrcau) in the absence of Mr. G. F. Smith, who is in charge of the enterprise, stated that satisfactory arrangements had been made in connection with the big community sing to bo held in the Town Hall as an "effort to Taise funds for the relief of distress locally during the coming winter. The date had been definitely fixed as the 19th May, and Messrs Owen Pritchard and Frank Crowthcr, of Wellington, would lead tlio singing, while the whole of the proceedings would be broadcast through 2YA. “A very fine programme is being arranged by Mr. Smith, who is doing very "good work in this connection,’’ added Mr. Perreau. Members expressed pleasure nt the progress reported, and eomplimentay erferences to the efforts of Mr. Smith were made.
