Woodville Chrysanthemum Show
AN EXCELLENT DISPLAY. Front Our Own Correspondent. The first annual show of tho Woodville Chrysanthemum Club was held in tne Foresters’ hall yesterday. The display of blooms was exceptionally good and a very satisfactory number of entries was received. The exhibits w’ere tastefully arranged reflecting great credit on the president, Mr. C. Wright, the secretary, Mr. L. Hurley, and an energetic committee.
The judge, Mr. A. W. Hamilton, of Pahiatua, commented very favourably on the exhibits, stating that taken right through the blooms were exceptionally fine. He considered that the champion bloom was the best lie' had ever seen. The prize-list is ns follows: —
Novice Section. Four district Japanese varieties: Mr. F. Shearman I and 2, Mr. Brice 3; five entries. One bloom, white: Mr. F. Shearman 1 and 2. One bloom, yellow or cream: Mr. F. Shearman 1 and 2, Mrs. Robinson 3; four entries. One bloom, pink: Mr. F. Shearman 1 and 2, Mrs. Robinson 3. One bloom, bronze: Mr. F. Shearman 1 and 2. One bloom, red or crimson: Mr. F. Shearman I and 2. Airs. Single 3; five entries. One bloom, any colour, not scheduled: Mrs. Brice 1, Mrs. Single 2.

Bowl of garden chrysanthemums: S. Anderson 1, M. Spademan 2, B. Halpin
Champion bloom of show: S. Turnbull. This bloom, a “Louisa I’ockett,” was a magnificent specimen measuring 12 inches across. The runner-up, Mr. Iv. Rotter, exhibited a “ Woodsidc, ’’ also a very wonderful specimen.
