Jolly Crowd at P.D.C Dance
Many patrons found pleasant recreation last evening dancing to the latest dance numbers provided by Mr. Gus Largo's Aces at the P.D.C. ballroom The floor was crowded with charmingly dressed ladies and their partners, those present including visitors from Pahiatua, Feikling and the surrounding districts. An enthusiastic committee had worked hard to make the function a success and their efforts were well rewarded both socially and financially, so that All Saints’ Vicarage building fund should benefit considerably as a result. Ices and cool drinks wore muen in demand and the funds were further augmented by a beautifully iced cake donated by Miss Haggitt for competition, while a lamb donated by Mr. .1. Holden, of Dannevirkc, realised nearly £B. The lamb was eventually presented to Alt Saints’ Children’s Home. Bridge tables were arranged for those who did not desire to dance, and a very nice supper was provided by members of the Ladies ’ Guild. The ladies’ committee responsible for tho well arranged function comprised Mrs. S. Goldingham, Misses M. Guy, M. Goldingham, N. Bagtiall, J. Muir, J. Woodward, P. Abraham, O. Wall, R. Gillies, headed by the efficient secretary, Miss D. Haggitt.
