A Birthday Party at Ohakea

A large party of her relatives and friends assembled on Saturday evening at the home of Mrs G. L. bhonrock, ono of the pioneers ami most highly respected residents of Ohakea. The occasion was, Mrs Slionroek’s 81st birthday, and very happily it was celebrated witn bright music, games, and- highly amusing competitions. At an opportune moment, Mr T. H. Tremaine in a brief speech referred to the many line qualities of Mrs bhonrock. Mr George Richardson also spoke of the high esteem in which she was held by a large circle of friends to whom she had ever extended the greatest kindness and hospitality. He then, on-behalf of those present, wished her many happy returns of her birthday, and invited all to join with him in drinking her health, winch was done with ltiusical honours. A particularly dainty supper was enjoyed, and the beautifully iced and decorated birthday cake that centred the table was much admired.
