From Our Own Correspondent. Ladies’ Hockey Club. A general meeting of the above elutt was held recently and arrangements were made to carry on again this yea? if possible. Some of the members of last year’s team are not available this year but it is to bo hoped that enough now members will be available to enable the club to carry on, and, a team; has been entered for tho club competi* tions under the jurisdiction of thfS Feilding Hockey Association. , Men’s Hockey Club. So far no definite news is availably whether the local men’s club can muster a team for tho association’s matches. It is to be hoped tna« enough playing members can be secure-® [to enable the club to carry on. Unemployed Camps. Preparations are well in hand. tho establishment of the above carnjj at the mouth of tho Makowhai creek and a'start will soon bo made to deepen, and widen tho creek so as to allow flood water to get away quicker. This will prove a boon to the property owners concerned, as this creek drains many) thousands of acres of rich, fertilo swamp land and in time will give greater safety to landowners’ stock and alsd enable them to stock up heavier and cultivate where at present it is not possible to do so. It is understood that as far as possible all provisions are to be secured locally, which will bo a great benefit to the local farmers and the tradesmen operating in the district,

Clydesdale School. The annual meeting of householder* of the above school will bo held in the hall to-night and it is to be hoped householders will turn out in full force.
