From Our Own Correspondent. At a meeting of the directors of the. Rongotea Dairy Company, Ltd., held on Tuesday last, it was decided to pay out lOd per lb. for butterfat. The meeting advises that the output for March has been well maintained notwithstanding the shortness of grass owing to the dry weather conditions. .Most farmers have, for the past months, been feeding turnips and ensilage, many having a carry-over of ensilage from last year, which clearly demonstrates that provision should be made for more than the season’s requirements, in order to meet a contingency such as has been experienced this summer. The month’s output was 7.1 tons of butter, as against 72 tons for the same month in 1931. The total manufactured to date is 097 tons. 'The quality .for the month lias been well maintained, more than 50 per cent, of the total grading 95 points. The factory is at present making from 73 to 75 boxes per day. Mr. F.' J. Nathan was a visitor to the meeting, and called to discuss matters of interest regarding the marketing of the company’s butter in Great Britain. Card Evening.

A large gathering attended the fortnightly meeting of the euchre tournament held in connection with the Anglican Church funds. Progressive euchre was won by Mrs. G. P. Baylis and Air. .Tames Tea/. Supper was served, after which Miss E. Ilansen supplied excellent dance music. The programme for the next meeting will bo a flag five hundred evening.

He was also indebted to the management committee for their co-operation, to tho secretary, Mr. F. Tostivan, and the auditor, Mr. A. Anderson.

Annual Report. The annual report states:— The standard of football has again been good, especially in the latter end of the season. A great improvement has been made in the senior competition by introducing the younger players to take the place of those who have seen better days. The senior competition opened slightly one-sided by me Oroua, Downs Club having a very lit team, but as the season wore on and the other teams vastly improved, good games were staged and both Rongotea and Hui Mai were successful in defeating them. The junior clubs again had a good hard competition right through. No third grade competitions were held last year, but if clubs are unable to field a full team it would bo to their gain if the competition could be run •with teams consisting of 15 players or for two clubs to combine even if there were only two full teams in the whole union. The senior representative team had the opportunity of meeting a high class of football in their matches against Horowhenua and Manawatu. The junior representatives did not have a very heavy season. The annual sevenaside was again held at Oroua Downs and was most successful. During the year the committee meetings were well attended and it is gratifying to have to Teport that only on one occasion did a player have to be reported to the union and this was for only a minor offence. Tho report congratulated clubs for their behaviour to the officials whilst under the control of this union, and it was hoped the coming season might find players taking their place in the field in the best interests of their clubs and sport generally. Tho total receipts were £6O 19s 8d and expenditure was £53 13s lid, showing a credit balance of £7 5s 9d. Considering the financial crisis the sub-union finished the year quito satisfactorily. Although tho gate takings were much lower this year the extra takings at the sevenaside and the benefit match at Palmerston North permitted the sub-union to finish with a slightly increased balance to last year, The report thanked all

players, clubs, committees, supporters, first aid men and referees for their most loyal support and co-operation during the past season and trusted the public would again support the country games by their donations to clubs and attendance at matches during the coming season.
