Church Services

10-morrow will be a special Jay at Emmanuel Congregational Church Broadway, it being the commencement of the 1-1 days’ great gospel compaign, Andrew Johnston, the blind soldier evangelist, being the special prcacner at both services. The Great War called Mr. Johnston from his father’s peaceful farm, and in Franco an enemy shell plunged him into life-long darkness. But the light of the world had come into his life, enabling him to laugh and love and work, despite a handicap which we might think was unbearable. To-day his messages arc bringing light into many darkened hearts, brightness to the saddened, strength to the overborne and peace to the unhappy. You will find Mr. Johnston sane and sunny, bright and breezy. Come and hear his message to-morrow. The harvest festival will be held in All Saints’ Church to-morrow, the services being S a.m. Holy Communion, 11 a.m. choral communion and sermon, 7 p.m. festival evensong and sermon. The preacher at the evening service will be the Kcv. B. S. Ashcroft, vicar of Alarton. All gifts of fruit and vegetables will be given to the All Saints’ Children’s Home. At the evening service the choir will render a harvest anthem. Both services at St. Andrew’s Church to-morrow will be conducted by Kcv. G. T. Brown, ALA. In the morning he will preach a home mission sermon on ’ 4 Somebody’s Child.’’ In the evening ho will speak on the subject of “Berplexitics.”
