Clothes for Unemployed

(To the Editor.) Sir, —Will you kindly allow me a little of your valuable space to voice what many people are feeling with regard to the sale of second-hand clothing to the unemployed by the civic authorities. ' Many people who give clothing cannot give in other ways just now, owing to the economic stress. The selling of these garments makes them feel the}' have done nothing to help after all. It is about time we persuaded some of our clergy to take part in civic affairs. Personally, I shall sec that in future anything I can give goes to the district nurse, who distributes clothes to deserving cases. There are many aspects of this case which I trust will be taken up by some abler pen than mine.-—I am, etc., ‘ f CH RISTIAN CHAEITY. ’ ’
