From Our Own Correspondent. During the week-end tho Railway cricket team motored to Oroua Downs whore a return match was played. Although tho weather was misty and doubtful when leaving tho city, it developed into an ideal cricket day at tho Downs. Ladies from the home and visiting sides wore iu attendance ami barracking was tho order of the day. Oroua, batting first, made 103. Railway could do nothing with tho bat and replied with only 31. A follow-on was not enforced and Oroua batted again for 85, Railway making GO, Oroua winning by 97 runs. An enjoyable tea was served by the Oroua ladies, after which ladies of both sides tried conclusions with bat and ball, no score being kept. Mr. Pepper, of Montreal street, who was forced to stop work on Friday last through illness, is improving as well as can be expected. Airs.
