Garden Parly at Russell Street School

On Saturday afternoon at 2 o’clock hi 3 Worship the Mayor will officially open what promises to be an outstanding effort arranged by the ladies’ committee of the Russell street school, the annual garden party and sale of work. The ladies have collected from a verywide area a wide range of articles and produce, and there will be four or five stalls at which these goods will be on sale at reasonable pi-nes. Then tnere will be competitions for babies under nine months and from nine months to 18 months, for a prize in each class, of an enlargement photo of the winner. This competition is to bo decided by popular vote of. the public. There is another attractive competition, namely, decorated bicycles and dolls’ prams, and Mrs. J. Galland has consented to judge those entries. Quite a number ox novelty events and guessing competitions will complete an attractive afternoon’s amusement and housewivesi can replenish wardrobes and stores and enjoy delectable afternoon tea.
