Ludgrovc, tho preparatory school at Now Barnet, about twelve miles north of London, to which Princess Mary and Lord Harewood are sending Lord Lascelles in the New Year, has had many scholars who now bear the best-known names in tho country. There is about the house itself and its gardens a friendly atmosphere (which, does not suggest to a new .bov quite so violent a contrast with his own home as is found in some schools. The classrooms arc not too large, and the playing fields are situated high on the hill. The associate headmasters, Mr W. J. Oakley and Mr F. A. H. Henley, arc both fine sportsmen, and no young man could want for better coaches in games. Mr Oakley covered himself with glory at Oxford in the ’nineties, being a particularly fine full-back, and playing in tho ’Varsity match in that capacity for each of the four years he was there. Mr Henley is a distinguished cricketer and played for Oxford as recently as 1905.
