Presbyterian Bible Class Conference
Per Press Association. INVERCARGILL, Last Night. The Presbyterian Bible Class camp officially breaks up to-morrow morning and apart from those extending tlicir holiday to Stewart Island or Queenstown tho delegates leave for Uieir homes to-morrow. On Thursday evening over 600 members marched from First Church to the Post Office Square, where Dr. J. 1). Salr.iond addressed the people, briefly sta*. ing tho aims and objects for which the Bible Class movement stands and proclaiming Christianity as the only possible solution for the acute problems confronting the world to-day. On Friday night a large number were unable to gain admittance to the. theatre which was tilled with people anxious to witness the Foreign Missions pageant. There were present representatives from three fields of mission work conducted by the New Zealand Presbyterian Church. On Saturday afternoon the garden party had to be held indoors on account of the weather. In the evening Rev. H. Davies gave an address summarising the studies taken on the tu'eme, “Tho World For Christ.” This afternoon tho youth director gave his message for the year to the Bible Classes. Briefly stated it was an exhortation to think concretely, to work co-operatively, and to win through to conviction. Mr. Edward Miller, who dipd recently at his forge at Abbeywick, Northumberland, lived in the sanio cottage 84 years, and he and his father kept the forge for no less than 150 years.
