Heavy rain the previous night had dono the course an immense amount of good, fairly fast times resulting. There was a good attendance of tho public. A good start saw the favourite, Royal Routine, go to the front from Gesture and Portray. At the half mile Royal Routino was three lengths ahead of Gesture, with lengths between Kozan and Portray.
