ROYAL SILK WINS PRESIDENT’S HANDICAP.

Per Press Association. AUCKLAND, Dec. 31. The Auckland Trotting Club’s summer meeting concluded in line weather before a moderate attendance. Tho totalisator registered £22,361 10s, compared with £34,909 10s for the third day last year, a decrease of £12,548. The total for the meeting was £55,471 15s, compared with £129,875 in 1930, a decieaso of £44,304 ss. Results:— TAMArtI HURDLES, of 125 sovs.; 2 miles . 1 WORTHY QUEEN (A. J. Times: 4.39 3-5, 4.37, 4.41 2-5, Worthy Queen went to the front before half the distance and was never troubled. Caballero and Royal Triumph wore next passing tho stand, whero Caballero broke badly. Explosion finished very fast. Oliver Thorpe led until reaching tho straight when Kewpic’s Triumph, con tinuing a fine run from the back mark, headed him while Rcy De Quest came fast to tako second place. The field was bunched all the way. The early leaders wero Golden Pedro, Torpedo Huon and Stanmoor. Mountain Dell moved up round tho back, where Royal Silk was handily placed. Mountain Dell, Golden Pedro and Royal Silk came into the straight together, followed by Auto Machine. Royal Silk drew away easily in the run home. This was ICewpie’s Triumph’s second win. In the straight Lady Yvonne came from far back to head Bell Dial, Dad’s Hope and Wilbur White. Gaza finished next.
