Bronze Eagle Wins G,N. Classic KARAPOTI AGAIN Per Press Association. AUCKLAND, Last Night. Tihe third day of the Auckland Pacing Club’s summer meeting attracted a largo attendance. The weather was fine and the track very fast. The totalisator handled £-17,977 as compared with £70,930 for the third day last year, a decrease of £22,953. Great Star took the lead on the rails after a furlong, leading Gay Crest, Compris and Admiral Drake in that order until tho straight was reached. Tho horses wero almost abreast in the last furlong, and in an exciting finish Compris just beat Gay Crest. At the turn Heremia led from Bronze Eagle and Golden Wings. Bronze Eagle drew away in tho run homo, while Peter Jackson came fast'from fifth to take second money. Won by three-quarters of a length, half a longth botween second and third. Time, 1.12 2-5. Karapoti led almost all the way. Gay Lap and Refresher were second into the straight, and .in tho run home Leitrim and Lady Quex challenged, but could only take third. Refresher finished next.
