The film is said to have the most stirring and unexpected climax ever brought to the silver sheet. Mary Nolan has the principal role with Owen Moore playing opposite her. Edward G. Robinson, whose fame on the Broadway stagp is well knokn, plays the character of the gang leader. “Outside the Law" is one of Universal’s 1930-31 special productions and it cost more than £12,000 to construct. Five hundred Oriental and slum types were employed in the Chinatown sequence. The original story was written by Tod Browning- who also directed the photoplay. Browning previously won fame by his direction of more than 20 of 3mn Chancy’s mystery plays. At the matinee to-day Episode 5 of “Finger Prints" will be screened.
